THE PATHWAY TO IMPROVING OUR LIVES, CITIZENSHIP, AND LEADERSHIP THROUGH GOD’S GRACE, GROWTH MINDSET, AND INTEGRATIVE LIFESTYLE SO THAT NIGERIA CAN BECOME THE GIANT OF AFRICA AS ORDAINED BY GOD

PART ONE By Dr. Ifeyinwa Nwakwesi Growth Mindset and Integrative Lifestyle Specialist Executive Chair, Growth Mindset and Integrative Lifestyle Academy CEO, Healthy Living Services Nig. Ltd.

Nigeria is blessed with immense human capital and abundant material resources. We have millions of talented Nigerians, yet some of us have not acquired the capacity and competence to activate their innate gifts, make empowering choices, and become assets to themselves, their families, their communities, and society at large.
Our educational and parenting curricula are largely focused on formal certifications, while failing to equip people with vital life lessons, strategies, values, and skills required for true success and responsible living.

We profess faith in words, yet some of us live primarily in the flesh, making poor decisions that lead to poor outcomes.
We are often not intentional about cultivating a positive mindset and attitude, leaving us enslaved to negative thinking, emotions, decisions, and choices that create unnecessary life challenges.

In many churches and mosques, the emphasis is placed mostly on rituals, while people may not be appropriating God’s spiritual power and authority to live empowered and impactful lives.
As a result, many decisions are driven by short-term pleasures that result in long-term pain.

Mindset reprogramming, attitudinal change, behavioral transformation, and values reorientation are rarely taught in schools, churches, or mosques. Consequently, some people lack the competence to make empowering choices that lead to empowering lives.
Millions of Nigerians engage in destructive vices, contributing to deep societal decadence. In healthcare, medical training focuses mainly on curative care, often neglecting the reality that the human being is spiritual, mental, emotional, physical, and psychosocial. Health, wellbeing, performance, and productivity must be viewed within the context of a person’s total social existence.
We rely heavily on prescriptive drugs, sometimes necessary, while ignoring daily common-sense healthy choices that build and sustain health. Many people live with acidic blood pH, toxic buildup, inflammation, and dehydration, which are root causes of chronic diseases. Our diets are dominated by cooked foods, with little inclusion of water-rich foods such as vegetables and fruit juices that support alkaline balance and vibrant health.
We are also not intentional about growing food organically. Instead, our foods are saturated with chemicals and additives that have detrimental effects on health.

In relationships and marriages, many, especially young people enter unprepared for the inevitable challenges of life, relationships, and marriage. Without the capacity and competence to build healthy unions, many relationships are destroyed by spiritual, mental, and emotional immaturity. Relationship and marriage challenges have become epidemic, demanding urgent attention to reduce separation and divorce rates.

Leadership is another critical concern. Many people assume leadership positions without acquiring the knowledge and skills required for capable and competent leadership. This results in poor decisions with far-reaching negative consequences.

Despite Nigeria’s vast resources, millions remain poor, and dysfunctional families, communities, and institutions abound.

High stress levels, poor conflict resolution skills, and unresolved emotional tensions weaken immune systems and create disharmony in homes, workplaces, and society.

Many youths struggle due to lack of continuous personal growth, preventing them from becoming assets to their world.

Our society often celebrates wealth regardless of its source, promotes quick fixes, and lacks long-term thinking.

Violence and abuse against women, men, and youths are increasing, largely due to absence of wisdom and common sense.
We organize countless workshops, seminars, and webinars, mistaking talking for action.

Although we generate solution-based ideas, we fail to act consistently and continuously to achieve real results.
Our leadership must improve decision-making and intentionally harness the nation’s diverse talents, capacity, and competence. Appointments should be based on expertise, competence, and capacity, not party affiliation. Leaders must embrace Constant and Never-Ending Improvement (CANI) and integrate Growth Mindset and Integrative Lifestyle education into schools, parenting systems, religious institutions, and organizations.

Personal growth must be encouraged so individuals can amplify strengths and convert weaknesses into strengths.

A PERSONAL JOURNEY
As a young wife, I focused intensely on building my career as a medical doctor and entrepreneur, neglecting my health. I relied on church rituals, lived with a negative mindset, disliked water, and avoided water-rich foods such as vegetable and fruit juices. My blood became acidic, leading to toxic buildup and inflammation. I suffered from depression, anxiety, panic attacks, low energy, and ill health for six years.
When conventional prescriptive drugs failed to restore my health, I sought deeper solutions. A medical colleague trained in holistic and integrative healthcare introduced me to integrative modalities. By God’s grace, I transformed from a low-energy, depressed, anxious woman into the God-centered, high-energy, vibrant, positive, passionate, patriotic, and impactful woman I am today, at 72 plus.
Our daily choices sculpt our lives. Inner beauty must be built alongside outer beauty, because outer beauty without inner beauty is a liability to society. We must be intentional about our inner dialogue, understanding that whatever we repeatedly tell our subconscious, it obeys. Our experiences are stepping stones to passion and purpose.
