TRIBUTE TO CHIEF CHRIS ASOLUKA (OKWULOHA) AND CONDOLENCE TO HIS WIFE BARR NNEKA CHRIS-ASOLUKA AND FAMILY

I write this tribute in honour of a great Nigerian and Igbo man.
Chief Chris Asoluka was an extremely brilliant, intelligent, pragmatic, and fine gentleman.
He was a role model husband who shared a deep bonding with his beautiful, committed and dependable wife, BARR Nneka Chris-Asoluka.
He was also a role model father, blessed with amazing children who are all doing very well, and he was recently overjoyed to welcome a grandchild.
Though it would have been wonderful for him to see more, we thank God he lived to witness at least one.
As Scripture reminds us, “In all things, give thanks.”
Chief Asoluka played a pivotal role in the realization of Imo Airport during his tenure as Imo State Commissioner for Finance. He often recounted how Dr. Maduka Nwakwesi, then Director of Budget in the Federal Ministry of Finance, facilitated the release of funds for part of the project.
This collaboration forged a lasting friendship, and Chief Asoluka would frequently visit Dr. Nwakwesi, as he did on January 26th, bringing along a special drink.
Chris was an active member of Aka Ikenga and contributed immensely to the growth and success of Aka Ikenga.
He was very passionate about the destiny of Igbos and did his best to win the presidency of Ohaneze. He had the capacity and competence to have made a lot of impact in that sphere of influence.
Known for his charm, warmth, and captivating conversation, Chief Asoluka left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
His wife, BARR Nneka, is a brilliant lawyer, deeply cherished by many for her grace and strength.
Their daughter, Somachi, is a passionate, impactful woman, a shining asset to both her marital and paternal families.
Together with her brothers and mother, she will undoubtedly uphold her father’s enduring legacy.
Okwuloha, as he was fondly called, departed with a wealth of critical, sustainable, and strategic ideas that held the potential to transform society.
Through our many discussions, he generously shared his profound insights on how Nigeria could rise to become the true giant of Africa, as ordained by God.
His visionary thinking and dedication to progress remain an inspiration.
Dear BARR Nneka, though this loss is immeasurable, remember that God is on the throne—He is all-sufficient and will uphold you through this season of grief.
He will lighten your burden and guide your steps as you navigate this profound challenge alongside your children and Chris’s siblings.
As a woman of steadfast faith, you are fortified by God’s spiritual power and authority, which will carry you through this darkness.
Lean on God and your community of friends who stand ready to support you with prayers, emotional strength, and unwavering solidarity.
