STRIVING TO LIVE TRUE CHRISTIAN LIVES THROUGH DISCIPLESHIP AND THE APPROPRIATION OF GOD’S SPIRITUAL POWER AMIDST THE STORMS OF LIFE

The Bible says, “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” Many of us are not intentional about cultivating a positive mindset and attitude. As a result, we imprison ourselves in negative beliefs, thoughts, feelings, words, decisions, choices, and actions causing avoidable challenges in our lives.

Our carnal minds often hinder us from serving God in both word and deed. While many of us are striving to live true Christian lives, it is certainly not easy by our own strength.
I, too, was once a struggling Christian, enslaved by negative mindset programming and destructive habits of worry.

My dear sister, Nnenna Obiejesi, introduced me to discipleship, and that marked the beginning of my amazing walk with God.

Today, I enjoy a personalized, conversational relationship with God.

I now tap into God’s spiritual power and authority, align with His divine plan for my life, reprogram my mind (soul) toward a positive mindset, nurture my body for vibrant health, build healthy relationships and marriage, and tap into my innate resources to grow my financial portfolio, so I can meet my needs and put smiles on the faces of the less privileged.

I strive to live in inner contentment, harmony, happiness, peace, humility, honesty, moderation, transparency, integrity, compassion, empathy, passion, and impact. I am becoming more spiritually mature, striving to live more in the Spirit than in the flesh.

By God’s grace, I now enjoy the peace of God that surpasses all human understanding, even in the midst of the painful loss of my elegant and resilient sister.

Whenever I dwell in the flesh, deep grief overwhelms me, escalating my blood pressure, leading to depression and irritability.
I slip into a disempowering mindset and lose the true meaning of transition to glory.

Living in the Spirit gives me a divine perspective of death as a transition to eternal life.
It refocuses me on the true essence of living: to love, encourage, motivate, and build our own lives and the lives of others, while walking in humility, gratitude, kindness, and authenticity.

The legacies we live behind remain eternal long after we are gone.

When one is gifted with an intimate walk with God, acquires His spiritual power and authority, and speaks words of faith and positive affirmations, one develops the capacity and competence to manage life’s challenges with faith, strength, resilience, and fortitudeby God’s grace.
I thank God that my focus is no longer on church rituals alone. I deeply appreciate all my spiritual mentors and enablers:

I thank my God who chose me as a disciple of Christ.
I thank my late parents, Late Sir FGN Okoye and Dame Monica Okoye—for the Christ-centered, value-driven upbringing they gave me.

I am grateful to Christ Church Uwani Primary School, Enugu, and Queen’s School, Enugu, where the foundations of prayer and Bible reading were firmly laid.

The loss of my dear, beautiful, inside-out sister, Hon. Justice Chinwe Iyizoba (Rtd.), Adadioranma is deeply painful. Very, very painful. Yet, I believe it is a wake-up call for all of us to put first things first: to live in inner contentment, happiness, peace, kindness, love, humility, gratitude, honesty, transparency, integrity, compassion, empathy, passion, and impact.
I will never stop telling the story of her beautiful life of impact, the love, warmth, togetherness, and authenticity that defined her. She lived within her means and carried her life’s challenges with God-centeredness, strength, resilience, and fortitude.

She was a true matriarch, an invaluable asset to herself, the Iyizoba family, and the FGN Okoye family.
My solace is that she gave us love and flowers while she was alive and we gave her her flowers while her eyes were open to see and appreciate them.

The love and bonding among the FGN Okoye sisters run deep. We promise that even in her absence, God will keep us bonded in true friendship and sisterhood.

I am grateful that she left behind children who have the capacity and competence to keep her legacies alive.

Together, we will ensure that The Pathfinder in Nimo remains a home of love, harmony, unity, compassion, and empathy, keeping the Iyizoba family united as one.

I am profoundly grateful to God for blessing me with a sister like Justice Chinwe Iyizoba. Though we had moments of disagreement and non-alignment on some family matters, we never stopped loving, encouraging, and inspiring each other.
I cherish the playful moments, asking her, “Are you healthy?” and hearing her respond with vibrant energy, “I am healthy!”
Known as the dancing queen, I am glad we shared dance steps together not long ago.

It feels unimaginable that when I visit Oranges or Pathfinder, she will no longer be seated at the head of the table, sipping her morning coffee and sharing stories.
Adadioranma loved to gist. She would often call and say, “Ke nke n’eme?” What’s the latest?

I have called her phone. I have sent messages. There is no response.
Yet, I am immensely proud to have had a big sister whose life was authentic, no faking, no masquerading, a life of inner contentment, strength, resilience, elegance, humility, gratitude, compassion, empathy, passion, and impact.

I take comfort in God’s abiding presence. I remain committed to staying close to my sisters, her children, the Iyizoba family, and the FGN Okoye family, promoting lives anchored on solid spiritual foundations, positive mindsets, vibrant health, healthy relationships and marriages, purposeful living, and passionate impact.

Adadioranma, I know you are in heaven.

A WAKE-UP CALL
My sister’s exit is a personal wake-up call for me to encourage millions to strive to live true Christian lives through Discipleship, Growth Mindset, and Integrative Lifestyle.
Our greatest gift from God is an intimate relationship with Him, living in obedience, loving God, and appropriating His spiritual power and authority to remain peaceful amidst life’s storms, while being assets to ourselves, our families, communities, and society, by God’s grace.

The quality of our citizenship and leadership urgently needs improvement through spiritual rebirth, so together we can rebuild Nigeria.
