SIX YEARS OF DEPRESSION, ANXIETY, PANIC ATTACKS & SEVERE DIGESTIVE DYSFUNCTIONS: How My Pain Became the Stepping Stones to Becoming a Capable, Competent, Credible & Impactful Leader Through God’s Grace, Growth Mindset & Integrative Lifestyle.
“Our experiences are not accidents; they are often the stepping stones that help us discover our passion, purpose, and calling.”
My journey is a testimony of transformation, from a low-energy, depressed, anxious woman struggling with severe digestive dysfunctions to a God-centered, vibrant, resilient, purposeful, and impactful leader through God’s grace, Growth Mindset, and Integrative Lifestyle principles.
I am Dr. Ifeyinwa Nwakwesi, a conventionally trained medical doctor who has become deeply passionate about helping people transform their lives using these powerful principles. Today, I stand as a living testimony of healing, growth, and purpose, and I am excited to introduce this life-changing initiative, the 3CI Leadership Mentorship Community.
No matter where you are in life, true success comes from committing to constant and never-ending personal development. My story is intended to inspire you to learn, grow, and become the best version of yourself.
Growth Mindset and Integrative Lifestyle are divine tools that help us overcome challenges, build capacity, and live meaningful and impactful lives. My prayer is that this opportunity will equip you with the knowledge, strategies, and skills needed to become a capable, competent, credible, and impactful leader, an asset to your world.
Foundations & Family Values
I was raised by role-model parents, Late Sir FGN Okoye and Late Dame Monica Okoye, who instilled Christian and principle-centered values in my siblings and me. My father rose from a humble background through hard work, focus, and determination to build FGN Okoye & Sons Ltd into a successful company in Eastern Nigeria. From childhood, I learned discipline, resilience, and purpose-driven living.
Education, Marriage & Multiple Roles
I attended Christian schools and universities including Christ Church Primary School, Queen’s School Enugu, University of Jos, and the University of Ibadan. I married my gift from God, Dr. Maduka Nwakwesi, while still a medical student. I became a wife, mother, doctor, businesswoman, and later a grandmother, but I never received training on balancing these multiple roles effectively.
I focused heavily on family, career, and responsibilities while neglecting my health and emotional well-being. Though committed to church activities, I had not yet developed a deeply personal relationship with God or intentionally cultivated a positive mindset. I lived with worry, negative thought patterns, and poor lifestyle habits.
Then in 1987, what seemed like an ordinary evening became the beginning of a life-altering journey. While driving with my husband, I suddenly experienced a burning sensation throughout my body. Within days, I developed symptoms that persisted for over six years, including:
Despite multiple hospital visits, medications, and treatments, the symptoms persisted. At one point, I collapsed at work and was rushed to the hospital with a dangerously weak pulse. By God’s grace, I survived.
Seeking Answers Beyond Boundaries
I sought medical help both locally and internationally. After extensive investigations in Germany revealed nothing significant, I later consulted an integrative medical specialist in the UK, Dr. Rodney Adeniyi Jones, who identified underlying lifestyle-related imbalances, including acidic blood pH (acidosis), toxic accumulation, inflammation, poor digestion, and poor nutrient absorption.
“For the first time, I understood that my body was not functioning optimally despite appearing healthy externally.”
That realization marked the beginning of my healing journey through:
Prayer and healing affirmations
Lifestyle and dietary changes
Nutritional and herbal support
Stress awareness and management
Integrative and alternative health approaches
“Gradually, I recovered spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically.”
Through this experience, God revealed a deeper truth to me: many people are not truly well even when they appear healthy outwardly. Countless individuals silently battle emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical struggles while trying to function daily.
I realized that true success and wellness go beyond medication and formal education. This awakening led me to establish Healthy Living Services in 1991, with a mission to help people heal, grow, and thrive holistically.
By God’s grace, I have become:
I am married to my wonderful husband, Dr. Maduka Nwakwesi, and we are blessed with five purposeful, family-oriented children, their amazing spouses, and adorable grandchildren.
Today, my life reflects healing, wholeness, purpose, and impact.
